Bringing together front runners of the local Maker Movement in Colorado, the Denver Film Society hosted a screening of the documentary MAKER, which tells the story of the burgeoning Maker Movement which is flourishing in cities across the country. In the past, large enterprises controlled the means of production, but with the advent of 3D printing and technology like Maker's Row, a website that connects designers to manufacturers across the globe, manufacturing is being increasingly democratized. Before the screening, some local Makers set up shop in the lobby, and afterwards they weighed in on the movement and its implications in a very thought provoking discussion. The event was hosted by AIGA.
